Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health System provides mental health treatment for children in our outpatient counseling and medication clinic, acute care program, and in our residential treatment program (Foundations) as well as in our specialized reactive attachment disorder residential treatment program. Very often, children can begin healing when developing these skills:
- Learning to keep themselves safe and stay calm.
- Learning to better understand their own feelings and behaviors and those of others.
- Learning ways to interact with both peers and adults with kindness and respect.
We are dedicated to help even the most difficult cases experience success.
Outpatient Counseling and Medication Clinic
Located at Riverside Behavioral Health Center, our outpatient services provides full evaluation and treatment to children and families while the child remains in their own home. Outpatient mental health treatment plans are individually tailored to each child, including the frequency of appointments. The outpatient clinic is located on the second floor of the Riverside campus, 1013 E. 66th Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The treatment priority for our acute mental health program is stabilization for children who are in danger of harming themselves or others.
Foundations Residential Program
Treatment priority is to successfully reintegrate children into their home and community. Children with maladaptive behaviors and emotional problems who have not responded to outpatient therapy can establish new skills in this safe and highly supervised environment.
Reactive Attachment Disorder Program
The RAD program at Riverside Behavioral Health Center provides residential treatment to children with attachment disorders in a specialized program that utilizes the Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Model. Children cannot learn or grow unless they have the secure base of a mutual emotional bond with a caretaker. The RAD program aims at enlarging and enhancing the circle of relationships in the child’s life that allows for the fullest functioning of the child and his/her family.
Children who have experienced mental trauma at a young age can struggle with attaching to a healthy, caring parent. Whether a child is diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder or not, if he or she is struggling with attachment, Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health System wants to help.
