When a child is in acute care, they will continue their education in one of our programs accredited by the Oklahoma Department of Education. In the two programs located in Tulsa, Tulsa Public School District operates the school jointly with Shadow Mountain.

The academic program includes a regular education and special education curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our patients.

Due to the short-term nature of acute care, parents or guardians may choose to have their child remain in their home school. In these cases, Shadow Mountain requires family assistance in providing homework and assignments. Tutoring and classroom time can be provided for the home school’s academic work.
